Jobs for Vets

Happy New Year! It is my hope that 2012 will bring prosperity and healing.

One of the good things that happened late last year that can help vets is legislation encouraging employers to hire vets and offering tax credits for doing so. More specifically, the Veterans Administration has embraced a set of policies that allow preference to vets in hiring. The Veterans Administration currently employs nearly 300,000 people, second only to the Department of Defense.

That spells opportunities for vets who will be given preferential treatment. Additionally disabled vets (30% and above) can be hired outside of the competitive process. For further information go to: http://www.va.gov/jobs/hiring_programs.asp.

The pain of PTSD is exacerbated by unemployment, so step up and let the world know you’re a vet and you’re proud of it.
